This is a warm treat on a cold day or night. This is one of the first things I "learned" how to cook that wasn't frozen or microwaveable.
INGREDIENTS:
4 Cups diced Potatoes 1 Cup diced celery 1 Cup grated carrots 1 lb. cooked and crumbled bacon 1/4 cup chopped onion 1 can corn 3t salt Cheese Sauce: 1 Cup shredded cheese 1/4 Cup flour 2 Cup milk 1/4 cup butter or margarine |
DIRECTIONS:
1. Dice potatoes, celery, carrots, and onion. 2. Fill pot with water and add vegetables and corn. 3. Boil all veggies until potato's are almost mushy. (about 15 min) 4. While veggies are boiling, fry up bacon until crispy. 5. Crumble bacon when it is cool enough to touch. 6. After veggies are done, drain water out return to pot. 7. In a saucepan, melt butter, add flour and milk. 8. When this is hot enough, add cheese slowly to melt. 9. Pour cheese mixture into veggies and stir. 10. Add crumbled bacon to accent or stir in. |
