German Pancakes
4 T. butter
1 c. flour 1 c. milk 6 eggs 1 tsp. salt Lower rack on oven. Heat oven to 450 degrees. While heating add butter to cast iron pan or 2 glass pie pans. Place into the oven so the butter melts and the pan gets hot while you are mixes the batter. Mix flour, milk, eggs and salt together until frothy and smooth. Pour into pan(s) when butter has melted. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown and shiny, but cooked. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with lemon juice and powdered sugar. (Or my favorite, maple syrup.) - These are a family favorite. My niece and nephew used to come stay over at my house, just so I would make these for them. |
